Why you chose to coach for TJRA

Tog has such a great family friendly atmosphere. I originally started teaching/coaching at Tog because I had

Why you chose to coach for TJRA

When my children joined the program I became aware that there was a need for additional coaches with

racing experience. As a former Toggenburg junior race team member I felt that this would be a great

opportunity for me to participate in the program again. I’ve really enjoyed being back out on the hill

again with the team.

Personal racing experience

I grew up racing in Central New York first at Cazenovia Ski Club, then on to Labrador Mtn. and Greek Peak. In High

School I spent one year at The Mountain House School (National Sports Academy) in Lake Placid, NY.

Why you chose to coach for TJRA

I chose to coach at Toggenburg because it has always been a top notch program for our area. I saw an opportunity

to work with a fantastic coaching staff, great parents and an unbelievable group of athletes.

Previous coaching experience

5-7 years with Greek Peak Junior Race Club at U18 and U16 levels...remember, I don't keep track. Assistant Coach

for Cornell University Race Team. Level III Professional Ski Instructors of America and Canadian Ski Instructors

Alliance, USSA Certified Coach. Instructor trainer, Assistant Snow Sports Director, Song Mountain. Staff Instructor

10+ years, Labrador Mountain.

Why you chose to coach for TJRA

TJRA has one of best if not THE best coaching staffs in NYS. It's coaching staff is one of great depth of experience and

knowledge. Being part of a group of talented and dedicated professionals as is found at TJRA is an honor I do not

take lightly. Plus, unlike any other place I've worked in the ski industry...this is family.

Previous coaching experience

I have coached at the J1 (U19), J2 (U16), and U14 levels at Toggenburg and Labrador.

Personal racing experience

Started racing as a J1 (U19) at Toggenburg then went on to race masters. I also raced in the weeknight race leagues

at Toggenburg and Labrador and am still racing in the league at Toggenburg.

Why you chose to coach for TJRA

Toggenburg, for most of my skiing career, has been my home. After taking some time off from coaching while my

kids were little, I had to make a choice on where I wanted my oldest to learn to ski race. I chose Toggenburg and had

the fortunate opportunity to get back into coaching at the same time. The coaching staff at Toggenburg has some

pretty impressive credentials and a focus that is the same as mine, which is not about winning (sure, that is a bonus),

but giving each athlete the opportunity to grow and improve.

is never too late to start ski racing!
